  • US Fish and Wildlife Service and the American Bird Conservancy weighed in on industrial wind bird kills and the corruption of the permitting processes. Wind energy projects are not prosecuted for violating the Federal Migratory Bird Act. When oil companies violate the Act they are prosecuted.

The wind energy promoters continue with their same worn out mantra: more birds are killed yearly running into buildings, eaten by cats… What the wind industry fails to note is that there is not even one independent study showing any decrease in CO2 emissions due to installation of industrial wind turbines. Even if you believe that CO2 causes “catastrophic man-made global warming”, and that coal plants cause death and illness from respiratory disease, there is ZERO evidence that wind turbines will change that.

House cats may kill song birds, but I doubt they are killing eagles, hawks, cranes, geese and ducks as-well-as bats. There are well known benefits to humans from cars, buildings and coal fired electrical plants. What does wind provide? Unstorable, unreliable, expensive electricity producing renewable energy credits for corruption-prone cap-and-trade schemes. No environmental benefits.

The laws should apply to all equally. At the federal level and at the state levels, wind energy is either specifically excempt by law, or given a pass.
